Futuroscope is quite an unusual park in the European theme park scene. Based on the concept of experiential edutainment, until 2022 it didn’t have any rides in the traditional sense—there were no attractions where you’d get on a vehicle or similar.
The vast majority of activities are based on 3D/4D cinema or truly original shows.
With 2,000,000 visitors in 2022, it’s the 5th most visited park in France. This is my TOP 7 of the best attractions in this park, but if you want to dive deeper, I suggest taking a look at my full review.
#7 Through Thomas Pesquet’s Eyes
Your curiosity will be awakened by the youngest astronaut of the European Space Agency (ESA). Discover all the secrets of his mission along with an incredible view of Earth on Europe’s largest screen, thanks to 4K IMAX® laser technology.
#6 Destination Mars
This is Futuroscope’s very first coaster.
Opened in 2020, it’s a family coaster that simulates a space launch. Unfortunately, being a family coaster, G-forces are minimal. However, the queue, as well as the indoor beginning and end of the attraction, are beautifully themed.
#5 Étincelle: The Curse of the Black Opal
This show perfectly represents what I mean when I say FUTUROSCOPE is the park you don’t expect.
It has many nods to Miss Marvel—the dialogues, action scenes, colors—but it’s all perfectly blended with special effects, both during the pre-show and the main performance.
Unmissable!
#4 Dances with Robots
You’ll take dance lessons with giant robots and waltz 3 meters off the ground.
#3 Splash Adventure
You’ll face challenges aboard your boat and learn how to shoot with a water cannon.
#2 The Time Machine
The Time Machine is a super fun attraction where you’ll travel through time inside a rather peculiar washing machine, accompanied by some very distracted friends.
It may seem like a simple children’s ride, but it’s definitely not!
#1 Tornado Chasers
This is without a doubt the best attraction at Futuroscope!
A dynamic cinema with never-before-seen special effects in Europe, ultra-high screen definition, and a rotating platform that immerses you fully into the story. The story unfolds inside the park itself, and combines wind, heat, cold, and real-life scenery with the screen.
Absolutely stunning!
This attraction has it all, which is why it was voted the best attraction in the world in 2022!
