Opened on April 15, 1983, Tokyo Disneyland is the first Disney park inaugurated outside the United States.
Contrary to popular belief, Tokyo Disneyland is NOT owned or operated by Disney.
Both ownership and management are handled by The Oriental Land Company, a private Japanese company.
If after reading my review and this TOP 7 list you’re interested in visiting, I recommend keeping an eye on the meetups and group travel section, as I’ll soon publish the program for the next trip to Japan in April 2024.
#7 Beaver Brothers Explorer Canoes
The Beaver Brothers Explorer Canoes is one of the craziest things you’ll try at Tokyo Disneyland!
Together with strangers, you’ll paddle a traditional Indian canoe to discover the wonders of the RIVERS of AMERICA. The two guides will help you on this impossible mission, but most importantly, they’ll have you laughing out loud with their surreal stories.
#6 Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin
Located in Toontown, Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin is worth trying just for its highly immersive entrance and queue.
The ride itself is hilarious, filled with gags from the movie, but if you really want to experience its full potential—spin the taxi’s steering wheel and see what happens!
#5 Splash Mountain
Splash Mountain is a Disney classic, and Tokyo’s version stands out for its charming setting and excellent maintenance. The experience remains one of the most enchanting flume rides in the world.
#4 Space Mountain
Another staple of many Disney parks, Space Mountain in Tokyo is very similar to the Californian version, but its loading station is something that must be seen in person!
#3 Monsters, Inc. Ride &Go Seek!
Without a doubt, the most fun attraction in Tomorrowland is Monsters, Inc. Ride &Go Seek! Even the queue alone is worth the trip—this ride is so immersive and entertaining it really feels like you’ve stepped into the Monsters’ world.
#2 Pooh’s Hunny Hunt
Pooh’s Hunny Hunt is completely different from the one in Orlando.
The level of technology in this attraction is off the charts—and so is the fun!
Trackless vehicles, animatronics, projections, optical illusions, dancing… everything here is taken to the extreme.
#1 Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast
Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast is the most beautiful attraction you’ll ever experience!
If you loved the movie, you’ll get goosebumps the moment you enter the queue, thanks to its mind-blowing theming—and it just keeps getting better.
The castle, the queue, the ride system, the music, the illusions—everything is at a level I had never seen before in my life.
