Universal Epic Universe is the upcoming Universal theme park set to open to the public on May 22, 2025.
If you want to be part of the opening of this incredible park, you can join my next group trip to Orlando.
Where is Universal Epic Universe located?
Universal Epic Universe is located a few kilometers south of the current Universal Orlando Resort. This location was chosen because the existing resort has no more space for expansion.
The new park will be connected to the main resort by a fleet of electric buses running on a dedicated lane, built at the park’s expense.
This will allow quick transportation between the four parks that make up the entire resort.
If you want to learn more about the entire Universal Orlando Resort, you can find my detailed description here.
Universal Epic Universe will also have its own parking lot, so you can drive directly to the park if you prefer, without having to park at the main resort parking and take the shuttle.
When is it open?
As previously mentioned, Universal Epic Universe will open to the public on May 22, 2025, and will be open 365 days a year with expected hours from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
I recommend visiting the official park website to check operating hours and download the park’s app, which will be very useful before and during your visit.
How much does a ticket for Epic Universe cost?
Universal announced a few weeks ago that at least for all of 2025, single-entry tickets for Epic Universe will NOT be available for purchase. Instead, the park will only be accessible through multi-day tickets that also include entry to the other parks within the resort.
This decision was made to manage crowd levels and enhance the experience at attractions—while, of course, maximizing revenue.
What themed areas does it have?
Universal Epic Universe consists of five different themed lands:
- Celestial Park
- SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™
- Dark Universe
- The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ — Ministry of Magic™
- How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk
Celestial Park
This is the first land you encounter upon entering the park.
Its theme reminds me somewhat of the settings from “The Golden Compass”—a mix of futuristic and romantic aesthetics.
Here you’ll find:
- Two attractions
- Two restaurants
- One shop
The highlight attraction is definitely Stardust Racer, a dual-track magnetic launch coaster.
Don’t overlook the two restaurants, The Atlantic and The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant—just looking at these renders is enough to make your mouth water.
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™
This land is nearly identical to the one at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, with only a few minor differences.
It will be split into two distinct areas, one dedicated to Super Mario and another to Donkey Kong.
The Super Mario section is well known since it is already present in Japan and at Universal Hollywood, but little has been revealed about the Donkey Kong area.
This part has yet to open in Japan and won’t be coming to Hollywood anytime soon.

The only confirmed attraction so far is a mix of coaster and dark ride, simulating a mine cart adventure.
